Ski Pants

When skiing in alpine environments, it is essential to have a pair of pants designed to keep you dry and comfortable. Choosing a pair of ski pants will involve finding the right comfort and fit for your body type, as well as deciding the level of insulation, breathability and waterproofing you will need. As with choosing a ski jacket, your choice of pants will be influenced by the location and type of activities you prefer for your time in the snow. 

For a cruisy day within the resort, or for people who tend to run cold, an insulated pair of ski pants may be a good choice. This option also gives you some extra warmth for long chilly chairlift rides. If you like to ski hard, or you prefer backcountry pursuits and earning your turns with an uphill hike, shell pants will be your best choice. We have found shell pants to be the best choice for most people due to their versatility in allowing for being worn on their own for warmer days, or with insulating base layers when required.
