Everybody loves a good fleece, and why not too, polyester insulation is great for skiing and snowboarding. Plenty of reasons why ski insulation is largely comprised of polyester: Cheap and easy to make and recycle, warm when wet, breathable, comfortable and fleeces look good.

The great thing about working with polyester is its ability to be used over and over. Some of the best fleeces are made largely of recycled PET water bottles. Both Patagonia and The North Face excel in the production of fleeces from recycled materials.
