Smith
Smith Optics are a global goggle and helmet brand founded in 1965 in the US. Starting out by building the first sealed thermal goggle lens and breathable vent foam that both are now ubiquitous on all ski goggles.
The latest revolutionary lens tech that Smith are working with is known as Chromapop. Chromapop, as the name suggests, optimizes colours and increases clarity of the lenses. Chromapop lenses are found in all of the goggles that we stock of Smith as they are up there with the best available on the market.
Smith work Chromapop into a number of Photochomic lenses that we are excited about. These lenses adapt to the light conditions and allow you to run a single lens in many of the conditions found on the hill.
On the Helmet side, Smith work extensively with Koroyd, an advanced helmet technology that is aimed to make helmets safer, lighter and more breathable. The welded tubes crumple consistently and absorbs energy by deforming the plastic. Unlike traditional foam, the Koroyd tubes are open and allow for improved airflow and comfort of the helmet.
Like many brands, Smith's Helmets and Goggles integrate amazingly together and should be looked at as a package to maximise airflow into the goggles and ensure a snug fit without any gaps.
