aussieskier.com is by skiers, for skiers.

The Internet has revolutionised the ski industry. The main shift in the paradigm has been the empowerment of the end users. You.

The sharing of information that it provides allows you to collect the information you feel is relevant in order to make informed decisions. In the case of aussieskier.com this is simply to help you decide where and when you go skiing.

Resort marketing departments have their place, mainly for growing our sport and attracting new skiers which are the lifeblood of the industry.

However their output is not designed for connoisseurs of the snow and that’s where I feel I step in. There are people who go skiing, and there are people who identify themselves as skiers. I am a passionate advocate of the latter.

I’m equally unashamed in my praise and criticism of what I feel matters to skiers in Australia.

My main charter is honest reporting of snow conditions, doing so in a manner that connects with skiers. Filling in the details between the lines of the official reports and also collating weather forecast information from many available channels.

My second passion is Travel, while there’s no doubt I love skiing in Australia it’s a wonderful world out there and through my book The Powder Bible I use the same philosophies to empower skiers to maximise their valuable holiday time.

Equipment and Gadgets are another topic of great interest and I comment on these as appropriate.

I don’t think I’m particularly popular in ‘The Industry’, but that’s of little concern. The Internet has seen a dramatic shift in power, transferring it to end users and that’s where I squarely place my loyalty. If I’m doing the right thing by my readers and changing the conversation then my job is done.

Happy skiing.
