Skis
To pursue your passion, you need the right tools for the job. Here at aussieskier we devote ourselves to ensuring that our carefully curated selection of top brand skis will have the right skis for you. Whether you are looking to rip hard charging turns down Little Buller Spur, scoring the deepest powder stashes in Japan, looking to save grams on the uphill in the backcountry, or hunting for that ultimate one-ski-quiver, our great range of skis and expert team have you covered.
If you're looking for ultimate versatility, you should have a browse through our All-Mountain Skis collection. You'll find versatile skis designed to perform well across a broad range of conditions. Skis in this category are a great option for skiers looking for one ski that handle a variety of terrain.
Interested in laying down some serious trenches? Our Carving Skis collection is ideal for skiers who stick to groomed trails and prioritise precise turns. With narrower waist widths, and carving specific shapes, these skis are excellent for smooth, controlled carving on hardpack snow.
For skiers looking to jump, spin, jib, and be playful with their skiing, our Twin-Tip Skis range is the place to look. With more aggressive rocker at the tip and tail than other categories, twin-tip skis are ideal for freestyle focused skiing. And yes, you can ski backwards on these.
The deepest of days, need the widest of skis, or that's what they say. Our Powder Skis collection is made up of a range of skis that excel in softer snow, with typical waist widths of 105-125mm. Skis in this collection feature more rockered profiles to help them float on top of the snow. Some of these will be less nimble on groomers, but they are built to excel in soft snow, providing unmatched float and stability when you're looking to enter the white room.
For the avid backcountry adventurer counting grams, or those of us looking for a mellow escape from the resort, our Touring Skis collection is here to take you there. Skis in this category are lighter weight, and paired best with a touring focused binding to improve your uphill efficiency. Finding the perfect balance of weight and ski-ability is important, so check in with our team for assistance in dialing in your choice.
If you don't have a massive quiver of skis lined up in the garage, or you're looking to get your first pair of skis, chances are you'll be looking for an All-Mountain ski that will feel reliable all over the hill. For mainly skiing in Australia, look for skis around 90mm. This will provide smooth edge-to-edge transitions and grip on firm snow, whilst being wide enough to avoid getting bogged down in the slush and crud. When picking a single ski for travel overseas, we would recommend going for a slightly wider footprint, somewhere between 95-105mm. This will provide more float for the typically deeper conditions, but allows for firm groomer performance when not hunting for pow.
