Climbing skins are an essential part of any Alpine Touring Setup. Won't get far if every step you take you end up sliding backwards. With powerful adhesive to attach to the bottom of your skis, Climbing skins allow you to walk up snowy terrain without being buried up to your waist.

Skins feature tiny directional fibres that seamlessly glide when pushed forward, then stick when pressure is pushed down on the ski.

Our favourite skins are largely from two companies, Contour and Pomoca. Contour because they are low fuss and easy to use, Pomoca because they have the best Hot Melt glue on the market.

The Contour Hybrid Skin is a game changer in Australian conditions. It is much more resistant to warming in summer and the glue can be cleaned to prolong the life of the skin. 

The new Black Crows Pilus Skins offer a lighter weight option that are pre-cut for specific Black Crows Freebird Models. The Pilus skins are made by Pomoca and are our go to with any of the many Black Crows ski models that are great for Backcountry skiing.
