Underwhelming is a word that I would use to describe the weekend, and I fear with the snow that is falling while I type this word-heavy but picture-light report it will become somewhat redundant by Monday morning. Late last week many forecasts were calling for up to 40cm of fresh snow, and while I did

Snow Forecast – June 29th – July 2nd 2012
UPDATED: Fri 29th June 11:45am: After what has been a warm & windy night in the mountains the cold is approaching – it was spelled out clearly in Jane Bunn’s Forecast that this one was going to start as rain and transition to snow during today. Texts from Buller and Facebook Updates from Hotham are
Buller Snow Report Tues 26th June 2012
After a yet another miserable, drizzly/rainy day on Monday I was very surprised leaving the Whitt last night to cold, clear skies and snow guns blazing. The snow crossing Bourke St was particularly firm and the road glazed which let to a slippery slide home. This morning we woke to beautiful blue skies, cold weather
Snow Report – Snow Storm June 21/22 2012
UPDATED: Fri 22 June 12pm It snowed. Yesterday’s NW feed continued to deliver, and by later in the evening it was NSW’s turn to receive as well. Temperatures were not cold but the precipitation was prolific and as they are usually want to do in a NW, Hotham and Falls Creek reported 48cm and 30cm
UPDATED: Snow Forecast – June 21st-25th 2012
UPDATE: Wed June 20th 3:30pm Very brief update. All is on track for decent snow Thursday night into Friday. Biggest news is that the front on Sunday seems to be fading. UPDATED: Snow Forecast – Thu 14th June 2012
UPDATE: 6pm Sat 16th June: The last few days have been funny in the snow forecast corner of the Internet. It’s early season and we’re all keen. Dead keen. Weather was clearly incoming for this weekend, and man didn’t we know about it! But the funny thing is that this system is marginal at best
Hotham Snow Report – Wednesday 13 June 2012
After a relatively busy opening weekend it is now really quiet. Given we haven’t seen any new snow for a few days things are holding up reasonably well. If you stick to the groomed parts of the run then it’s decent enough. Getting Road Runner open was a good effort. It’s nice to have something

Half a dozen runs of Bourke St was plenty for the weekend but it was a lovely day so we decided to take a walk to the Summit: (Click to enlarge) Also, Jane’s Weather is forecasting a return to wintry weather with a series of cold fronts following some warm, wet weather in the leadup
Buller Snow Report – Queen’s Birthday Weekend 9-10 June 2012
After the excitement that generally coincides with an imminent ski season, followed by the disappointment of no snow falling at Buller due to the most recent storm’s SE orientation, it was finally time to head up to the mountain. We arrived at a reasonable hour on Friday night and the cats were out madly pushing
