Looks like we’re in for a bit more snow. As we know Buller is in desperate need of snow, and the chatter I’ve heard from Falls and Hotham is that while they are far from dire straits a nice little top up will be just what the doctor ordered, as their lower, sun facing aspects

Snow Forecast – Fri-Sun July 13-15 2012
We were joking in the bar on Tuesday night that the deluge raging outside was payback for five stunning bluebird days in a row. Wednesday to Sunday were beautiful conditions all across the alps, and I was fortunate to ski for three of those five (Reports in the Snow Reports section). I wasn’t planning on

UPDATED: Fri 29th June 11:45am: After what has been a warm & windy night in the mountains the cold is approaching – it was spelled out clearly in Jane Bunn’s Forecast that this one was going to start as rain and transition to snow during today. Texts from Buller and Facebook Updates from Hotham are

UPDATED: Fri 22 June 12pm It snowed. Yesterday’s NW feed continued to deliver, and by later in the evening it was NSW’s turn to receive as well. Temperatures were not cold but the precipitation was prolific and as they are usually want to do in a NW, Hotham and Falls Creek reported 48cm and 30cm

UPDATE: Wed June 20th 3:30pm Very brief update. All is on track for decent snow Thursday night into Friday. Biggest news is that the front on Sunday seems to be fading. Snow Forecast Tues 29th May 2012 – Buller Unlikely To Open Early
While the snowfalls of late last week were particularly welcome and made our mountains white, they weren’t quite enough to get things going on their own. Natually a few adventurous walkers took advantage of the conditions but the snow depth wouldn’t have coped with a rush of skiers and boarders. However it wouldn’t have taken
UPDATED: Weather / Snow Forecast Week 20/6
UPDATED: Wed Jun 22 8am Quick update – between 20 and 50cm has fallen in the various resorts. This was totally expected and not really news, what’s news is the new terrain that this fresh snow may open. I’ll report back when I hear. UPDATED: Tues Jun 21 1pm Well it huffed, and it puffed,

Looks like iPhone apps are all the rage. Hot on the heels of Hotham, Falls Creek has just released theirs: At first glance it looks a little limited, but Falls has posted on Facebook that they are expecting an update in a week that will include GPS and Cams. You can Download it from iTunes
UPDATE: Snow Forecast – Queen’s Birthday Weekend 2011
UPDATE: Wed 8th June 1:30pm: Another quick lunch-break update. The weather that was forecasted eventuated. We had a strong front hit the mountains mid-afternoon yesterday which was followed up by solid showers from the SW through the evening and today. This was accompanied by cold temperatures and snow to low levels. You can clearly see
Ski Instructor Courses – How To Become A Ski Instructor
I was extremely fortunate to spend my 20′s as a Ski Instructor. I found myself skiing all over the mountain with some of Buller’s hottest young rippers, and
