Hotham Snow Report – Saturday 15 September 2012
It was another warm one yesterday. Just about t-shirt weather. The snow is what you’d expect, softening up during the day. There were still some areas that were soft enough, not rock hard and not slush either. It was just a matter knowing where to look. There is absolutely no one up here either. It
Hotham Snow Report – Saturday 8 September 2012
With yet another Friday storm rolling through things were looking good again. Some of the forecasts for the amount of snow we were going to get were just downright fanciful. The temperatures in Melbourne and Adelaide were simply too high for anything but rain in the early stages of the front coming through. Thankfully, it

After Friday’s lovely storm skiing it was time to spend the weekend completing our Level 1 AST Avalanche Course. Quite frankly this course was long overdue for us given how much time we like to spend in potentially avalanche prone terrain. I’ve had an interest in the topic for a number of years and am
Hotham Snow Report – Fri Aug 24th 2012
After yesterday’s rain and well needed day off it turned to snow in the late afternoon and by morning there was around 15cm of fresh. I got out just after the 7:30am opening of Heavenly and had a bunch of great runs in the new snow, mainly The Cornice into Snake Gully and also Purgatory
Hotham Snow Report – Monday 20 August 2012
After saying that there hadn’t been any days that stood out from the rest last Friday ended all that. It was easily the best day of the past two seasons. Everything just lined up perfectly, unless you were trying to get up here from Harrietville. Saturday was still good, but probably not quite at the
Hotham Snow Report – Thursday 16 August 2012
It’s been an awesome two weeks up here since the last report. Apologies for the break. Hasn’t been much sunshine in that time and while there hasn’t been a dump of snow that stands out there has been a nice steady stream of small to moderate falls that have kept things looking really good and
Hotham Snow Report – Friday 3 August
Nothing much has really changed since the last check in. A few nice days, a bit of snow here and there but nothing of any real note that sticks in your head as a great day out or missed. Been some days where it was pretty firm but yesterday was fantastic on the groomers. Particularly
Hotham Snow Report – Monday 23 July 2012
Another warm one today, it was good to see the sun again after the bad weather we had for a while there but we could do with some fresh snow now. It’s very quiet out on the hill which is helping to keep things looking a bit better. Here are some pics from the hill
Hotham Snow Report – Thursday 19 July 2012
After taking a week or so off due to school holiday crowds and some ordinary weather things finally aligned to get out there again. The hill is still looking pretty good. It was pretty firm today thanks to the clear skies and low temps last night. The pick of the day was definitely Snake Gully.
